Our Government knows the importance of arts and culture in strengthening our communities. By supporting activities like the Foire gourmande de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue et du Nord-Est ontarien, which brings together culture and cuisine, we are helping ensure the development and preservation of the region’s heritage. Once again this year, people of all ages are invited to come enjoy the arts and heritage in a festive setting.

On behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Government of Canada, I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of this celebration.

A must on the regional touristic and socioeconomic scene, La Foire Gourmande de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue et du Nord-Est ontarien celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Year after year, the different exhibitors have made us discovering the high quality and the freshness of the regional agriculture and food products. It is by thousands that we made these discoveries. This year, La Foire Gourmande promises to bring us in a world of flavours and we will once again discover a tremendous wealth of food.

I sincerely want to thank all the volunteers and the members of the organizing committee, that have made the Foire Gourmande a success story all over those years. This 10^th anniversary and the tremendous number of visitors and exhibitors, are the result of your implication and acknowledge the quality of your work.

To all of you, enjoy this gastronomic event!

I convey my most cordial greetings to all, at this 10^th edition of La Foire gourmande de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue et du Nord-Est ontarien.

For 10 years now, this tasteful event has created and deepened links between producers from Québec and Ontario, whose client base is constantly expanding and, in most cases, local products that are showcased at La Foire gourmande end up on our grocery store shelves and on our restaurant menus.

I wish you a memorable gastronomic experience and a lot of interesting encounters!
